  • Presentation of expenditure statement of the 24th CTEF Annual Convention

Proceedings

The meeting began with a silent prayer. The General Secretary welcomed the members. The Chairman outlined the purpose of reconstituting the committees for the period 2026–2029 and stressed active participation, regular attendance, and coordination, as CTEF approaches its Silver Jubilee in 2027.

The list of newly constituted Executive Committee members and District Coordinators was read out. All newly inducted members introduced themselves.

The Income and Expenditure Statement of the 24th Annual Convention was presented and approved unanimously. Total income was Rs. 1,04,199 and expenditure was Rs. 83,435. The closing balance stood at Rs. 20,764, including the mandatory college remittance.

Resolutions

  • Preparation of an action plan for the year 2026–27
  • Planning of Silver Jubilee celebration activities

Attendance

Forty-four members, including Patrons, Advisory Board Members, Consultants, Vice Chairpersons, Executive Members, and District Coordinators, attended the meeting.

Conclusion

The Treasurer delivered the vote of thanks. The meeting concluded at 8.30 pm.

 K.P.M. B.Ed. COLLEGE, CHERIYAVELINALLOOR, KOLLAM Report of National Seminar in Collaboration with Council for Teacher Education (CTEF) Kerala and Council For Educational Administration and Management (CEAM) K.P.M. B.Ed. College, Cheriyavelinalloor, organized a National Seminar on 31st January 2026, in collaboration with the Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF) Kerala State, and the Council for Educational Administration and Management (CEAM). aimed to explore the relevance of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in the light of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with special emphasis on holistic development and cultural continuity in education. The programme commenced with a prayer by Anakha S., B.Ed. student, setting a reflective and scholarly tone for the day. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Biju G., Principal, K.P.M. B.Ed. College, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries and participants and highlighted the need to integrate indigenous knowledge traditions with contemporary educational practices. The Introductory Remarks were presented by Smt. Lekshmi L. R., Assistant Professor in English Education, who outlined the objectives and structure of the seminar. The seminar was formally inaugurated by Dr. M. S. Geetha, former Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Kerala, who stressed the importance of aligning traditional wisdom with modern educational reforms. The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. G. Valsala, former Principal, IASE Thrissur, and Chairman, CEAM Kerala.. e  A significant highlight of the session was the MoU signing with CTEF Kerala and CEAM National, followed by the distribution of institutional membership cards, marking a milestone in academic networking. The theme presentation was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) V. Reghu, former Controller and Dean, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Tamil Nadu. It was followed by paper presentation from various colleges and departments. The seminar ended with a valedictory session which was inaugurated by Dr. T.V. Kunhiraman, HOD, Department of M.Ed, BMM II Training College, Kottarakkara.

Mindfulness in Everyday Life

Report on the Webinar: “Mindfulness in Everyday Life”
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mar Baselios College of Education, Sulthan Bathery, in collaboration with Association of International Researchers of Indian Origin(AIRIO) and the Council of Teacher Education Foundation(CTEF), successfully organised a webinar titled “Mindfulness in Everyday Life” on 20 January 2026 through the Zoom platform.
The webinar was organised under the guidance of Dr. M.S Geetha, Chairman, CTEF , Kerala, and Prof. Dr. Rajeswari K., President, AIRIO, Kerala Chapter. The programme aimed to sensitise educators and teacher trainees to the importance of mindfulness and its relevance to personal well-being and professional practice.
The resource person for the webinar Mrs. Sunanda Ravi is a Counselling Psychologist at Manasa Subhkara Mind Care, Hyderabad, and the Founder & President of the Deccan Positive Mental Health Practitioner Association, India. She is a certified AYUSH Yoga Trainer, Art Therapist, Mindfulness Practitioner, and Child and Family Counsellor, and a recipient of the Best Mindfulness Practitioner Award (2020), Aaron T. Beck Best Psychologist Award (2022), and Inspiring Woman Psychologist Award (2022).She delivered an insightful talk highlighting the importance of practising mindfulness in everyday life and introduced simple, classroom-friendly strategies such as mindful breathing, attentive listening, conscious observation, and focusing on one task at a time. She emphasised that mindfulness enhances concentration, emotional regulation, self-awareness, attention, enjoyment, and overall well-being, thereby making learning experiences more meaningful.
The Program was coordinated by Dr. Sunith Kumar G.N., Principal of the college. The program commenced with a welcome address by Mrs. Geena Koshy, Assistant Professor in General Education who served as the Program Convener. The webinar was concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Sanjay Jose (B.Ed. English, 2025–27), student convener of the program.E-certificates were issued to all participants .
Participants found the webinar highly beneficial for managing stress and improving focus in both academic and personal contexts. .Overall the programme contributed positively to the professional development and mental well-being of the participants.
